Demi Lovato recently bared her soul—and well everything else—in a new interview with Complex magazine where the sexy starlet dished about her relationship with Wilmer Valderrama, her upcoming album Confident, and her on-again, off-again friendship with none other than Selena Gomez.
When asked if she still talks to the "Good For You" singer, Lovato responded with a simple "Nope". Hold up. What? We can't forget the adorable selfie that the two posed for just recently which was the first time they were photographed together since 2014 (more on that later). So what gives?
The "Cool For The Summer" songstress took to Twitter to set the record straight: "Interviews are done months and months before the issue is published. [A] lot can change between then and now. Don't read into the bulls--t."
Well that about settles it! It's no secret, however, that singers have had a their ups and downs as pals.
The two grew up together—first on Barney and then as stars of the Disney Channel on their own respective hit shows. For a while they pleased fans with their never-ending BFF videos on Youtube and even collaborated on some music together. However, in recent years their friendship seemed to dwindle, leaving everyone to question whether or not they'd ever be close again.
They event went through a falling out in 2010 and didn't reunite again until early 2014.
In the summer of 2014, Lovato decided to unfollow SelGo on her social media platforms. When asked about the reasoning behind her decision, the singer said, "I think it's just one of those things where people change and people grow apart."
Now, a year later, it seems they're growing back together. Lovato began following her old pal again in August. The gesture was followed by Gomez reaching out and Tweeting the "Skyscraper" singer a happy birthday on Aug. 20.
"@selenagomez I'm so glad you were born too..." Lovato responded, ":P #forever #nomatterwhat."
Old friends forever!
