Talk about an awkward family reunion—things are even more tense than you can imagine between Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) and Avery (Jonathan Jackson) on Nashville. While the new mom and wife has been partying her postpartum blues away with a bunch of randos, Avery has been taking care of their newborn at home with his folks.
But after seeing the country superstar say in a TV interview how much she was missing her little family, he decided to return home just in time to find strangers drinking a ton of alcohol in his home—definitely not a suitable atmosphere for a cute little baby.
In E! News' exclusive clip of tonight's episode, you can see just how shocked he is when he walks through the door. "I'm gone for weeks, this is what you do? Invite a bunch of strangers to our house?"
Juliette protests, but Avery isn't buying it. "When I saw that interview and you said you missed us, I believed it," he tells her. You can watch the exclusive clip above to see the intense scene go down.
Panettiere, who had daughter Kaya Klitschko with fiancé Wladimir Klitschko in December 2014, revealed Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan on a visit to Live! With Kelly and Michael that she understands intimately her character's struggle with postpartum depression.
"I can very much relate. It's something a lot of women experience," she told the hosts, who are also guest-starring on Wednesday's Nashville episode. "When [you are told] about postpartum depression you think it's 'I feel negative feelings towards my child; I want to injure or hurt my child.' I've never, ever had those feelings. Some women do."
But, the actress explained, "you don't realize how broad of a spectrum you can really experience that on. It's something that needs to be talked about. Women need to know that they're not alone, and that it does heal."
Nashville airs Wednesday nights at 10 p.m. on ABC.
