Sing out, people! The third Pitch Perfect movie is coming along quite nicely, thankyouverymuch.
Hailee Steinfeld exclusively tells me that she will be returning to the hit musical franchise after making her debut in the second flick.
"I'm in," she said last night at a special screening of her new indie drama Ten Thousand Saints (in theaters and on demand Aug.14). "I can't wait! It's all happening."
Rebel Wilson, Anna Kendrick and Brittany Snow previously onfirmed they're coming back. Kay Cannon, who wrote the first two, is also writing no. 3. Elizabeth Banks, who directed the second, and her hubby Max Handelman will once again produce.
Universal Pictures announced Pitch Perfect 3 will be released on July 21, 2017. (Universal Pictures and E! Online are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
In other casting news, Blake Lively may be coming face-to-face with a shark in In the Deep. A source confirms she's in talks to star in the thriller as a young woman who goes surfing in an isolated area deal with the loss of her mom. She not only gets stranded on a buoy, but things go terribly wrong when a great white shark prevents her from getting back to land.
The Hollywood Reporter first reported the Lively news.
