Scarlett Johansson is a good actress, but a good liar? Not so much.

The actress played "Box of Lies" on NBC's Tonight Show Thursday. For those who hadn't seen previous games with Tina Fey or Jennifer Lawrence, for example, Jimmy Fallon explained the rules: "Upstage are a bunch of boxes containing objects neither of us has seen before. Taking turns, Scarlett and I are going to select a box, open it on our side of the table out of view of the other person, remove the object from the box, show it to the audience, then look at your opponent and tell them what's in the box. You may be lying. You may be telling the truth. Your opponent has to guess either lie or truth. If you guess correctly, you get a point. If you guess wrong, the other person gets a point. The first one to two points wins."

Johansson picked the first box.

"It looks like it's a light box," Fallon said. "Already hint No. 1."

After the actress opened the box, she joked, "Ooh, it's so heavy!"

Johansson then showed the audience what was inside: a Black Widow action figure holding hands with a Gumby figurine while sitting on a plastic park bench. "It is a hot dug bun shaped like The Hulk," she lied.

The late-night host was thrown by her laughter. "That means you're trying to fake me out because maybe it really is a hot dog bun shaped like The Hulk, which would be very reverse psychology of you, very actor-y of you—which you are! You're an actor," he said. "It's a hot dog bun in the shape of The Hulk. How is that even possible? You had to get a Hulk mold and bake. This whole thing is...I'm not a baker. I'm going to say it's impossible. I'm going to say you lie!"

Johansson replied, "Dammit!"

When Fallon opened his first box, he pulled out a mannequin head wearing bedazzled goggles. "It's a fun thing," he said. "A lot of people can use it and have a great time with it. It's a mannequin head with diamond eyes and a Speedo cover over the eyes so you can go swimming underwater if you have diamond eyes. It's usable because it's fun. You can put it around your office. It's a good time."

Johansson was stumped. "I can't tell whether you've taken a lot of pauses because you're trying to psych me out, but I cannot imagine that anybody would think to make a mannequin with diamond eyes and a little Speedo goggle cover thing. Did Wiz Khalifa make it?" she asked. "I'm going to say there's no way!"

Fallon showed her that he was indeed telling the truth.

"Ah!" the actress said. "That is terrifying!"

Though the host won the game, they decided to play another round for fun.

"The secret box, if you choose the right number, is worth 1,000 points," he said.

Johansson then pulled out a Starbucks cup full of baked beans.

"I'm ready for my hint," Fallon said.

"Oh, sorry," the actress replied. "I feel into its eyes."

So, did Johansson decide to lie or tell the truth?
