The AFC and NFC championship games are going down this weekend, meaning that you will soon have the answer to the question: "Which team must I pretend to root for between hovering around the seven-layer dip and hovering around the charcuterie plate during the Super Bowl?" Unless you are a fan of the Packers, Seahawks, Colts or Patriots, of course, in which case you definitely care more about the game. But what we're trying to get as is this: who the hell can worry about professional football at a time like this?! We want to talk about The Kitten Bowl!
The Hallmark Channel's second-annual Kitten Bowl is airing on Sunday, Feb 1, and if you dare to ask us what's so important about a Kitten Bowl, well then we fear for your soul, sir or ma'am.
It's kittens playing football! Adorable, fluffy, frisky, rolling, tumbling sweet kittens! They tackle each other! They bounce around the field! They chase after toys and climb walls! And even better: every single kitten you watch during the Kitten Bowl is up for adoption. The North Shore Animal League America and Last Hope Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation provided over 90 adoptable athletes (or cathletes, thank you very much), for the Feline Football League. All the furry kittens will be adopted directly following the games, so it's a win-win situation for everyone involved.
Ready to meet the fur-ocious competitors? Sorry, what we're really asking is: Are you ready to look at over 30 photos of insanely cute kittens with equally cute names? Of course you are!
