Lisa Rinna, RHOBH

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is getting a dose of drama from a woman who knows all about it: Lisa Rinna.

The Melrose Place and Days of Our Lives veteran joins the reality show for season five alongside fellow soap opera vet Eileen Davidson and it's safe to say the two aren't afraid to mix things up with Real Housewives veterans Kyle Richards, Kim Richards, Lisa Vanderpump, Brandi Glanville and Yolanda Hadid.

Rinna, who has appeared on Dancing With the Stars and Celebrity Apprentice and also co-starred opposite her husband Harry Hamlin in the reality series Harry Loves Lisa, said doing Beverly Hills Housewives was similar to Melrose Place.

"This is very close to doing Melrose Place without a script in your hand," she said. Rinna had been rumored to join the series during past seasons and was adamant that she was not joining the fray…until now.

"Like everything in life, it's all about timing. It's funny, when I went on to Melrose Place it was year five. This is year five of Housewives…To be honest with you, after talking about it with my husband, it's been a really great gig for me," she said, citing her time with her kids and being at home. "It felt right, to be honest with you…and I like an adventure, I was looking for an adventure."

In The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills trailer, Rinna is seen throwing wine (or some other kind of liquid)—and subsequently, a glass—at costar Kim Richards. Rinna had to remain coy about the details, but said, "I can't say it's anything I would have ever expected or imagined to ever have happen in my life…most of my friends have ever heard me raise my voice or get angry, really…what I learned is I am fiercely protective of my family."

Something tells us Lisa Rinna will be our new favorite Housewife by the time this season is over.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills premieres Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 9 p.m. on Bravo.

(E! and Bravo are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
