Fashion statement or faux pas?

Rihanna is never one to shy away from controversy, particularly when it comes to fashion. This is the same woman who showed up to the CFDA Awards in a nipple and thong-baring Swarovski-encrusted gown, after all.

And it looks like the 26-year-old has managed to merge fashion and controversy yet again. Sunday night, Rihanna stepped out to dinner at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, but it wasn't her outfit that turned heads, it was her choice of accessories.

Rihanna headed to dinner clad in a red skirt, gray crop top, sneakers and black cap and not one—but two—gun-inspired purses. The Stay singer carried a black Saint Laurent clutch with guns printed all over it, and she also toted a handgun-shaped purse.

And this isn't Rihanna's first time accessorizing with a gun-shaped purse. Back in 2010, the pop singer also stirred a bit of controversy when she stepped out with a black Vlieger & Vandam purse that had a handgun emblazoned on the front of it.

Needless to say, firearms and fashion tend to raise eyebrows—and we have a feeling RiRi's accessories of choice will be met with mixed reviews.

But Rihanna is known to wear her controversial fashions unapologetically. When asked if she was planning on wearing her nearly nude gown out after the CFDA Awards, she quipped, "Why? Yes, I am. Do my t-ts bother you? They're covered in Swarovski crystals!" Well, then!
