Giuliana Rancic knows that the death of a celebrity can bring all sorts of people out of the woodwork, those who call themselves fans and who have nothing but the nicest things to say about the deceased.

But the E! News co-host says, without a doubt, that the outpouring of love for Joan Rivers in the wake of the legendary comedienne's passing has been the real deal.

"Sometimes when someone passes away you know everyone starts to speak up and say, ‘Oh, we were such great friends' or ‘She was so fabulous,' and they might not always mean it, but in Joan's case, let me tell you, all of those people I just watched for the first time talking about her—they all meant it."

What Giuliana was watching was a clipfest of interviews with celebs at the Toronto International Film Festival and some of the top designers at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York right now, all of whom—from Reese Witherspoon, Melissa McCarthy and Bill Murray to Tom Ford, Betsey Johnson and Donna Karan—have a place in their hearts for Joan, who died last Thursday.

"I remember at the Met Gala, the past few years I've done it," Giuliana recalled on E! News today, "Tom Ford always makes a beeline for me and he's like, "Oh my god, I love Fashion Police, I'm obsessed withJoan Rivers.'"

"It's just nice to see that everyone just misses her so much and everyone just has lovely things to say about her," G. added.
