How Lubov Azria Balances Her Fashion Empire and Raising Five Girls

Who do Taylor Swift, Alessandra Ambrosio and Rita Ora call when they want to feel glamorous and confident on the red carpet? L.A.'s first lady of fashion, of course!

Lubov Azria is the creative mastermind behind the brands Hervé Léger by Max Azria and BCBGMAXAZRIA  and has dedicated her life's work empowering women to feel beautiful and confident. She and her husband, Max Azria, reignited the Parisian label into a fashion powerhouse well loved by all of Hollywood's finest.

Did we mention she is also a mother of five girls? Amidst the current chaos of New York Fashion Week, Azria managed to squeeze in some time for us to reveal intimate details about life in Los Angeles and the one item she would never be caught dead wearing. Read on to find out more.

What is your idea of perfect happiness and what is your current state of mind? 
Perfect happiness for me is living in the moment and letting go of all preconceptions. My current state of mind is anticipatory. 

What is the trait that you deplore in yourself? 
I do not always seize the moment.

Which talent would you most like to have? 
I'd love the ability to speak many different languages! 

What is your greatest achievement? 
My five beautiful daughters. 

What is the quality you most like in a man and who do you admire? 
You have to have a sense of humor and I admire my husband, Max.

Biggest fashion no-no you see all the time and wish would disappear? 
I cannot stand the totally '80s roller derby look. 

The one bag that you love the most?
A BCBG bag, of course! 

Color of the moment?
Manila white.

Fashion trend for MEN that you cannot stand? 
Head to toe track suits. Please don't! 

Favorite restaurant for a romantic meal? 
Giorgio Baldi is really delicious.  

Thematically describe the interiors of your Los Angeles home. 
My home is a bit of Hollywood Regency with a mix of global influences from all of our travel. A warm combination of old and new!

The Rose Bowl Flea Market. 

Candle scent that you love? 
I love the scents of Dyptique candles. It's a Parisian brand with beautiful packaging.

Andy Lecompte Salon.  

Mani/Pedi location of choice? 
Cowshed Spa at the Soho House in West Hollywood.  

What is your 3-second beauty fix and signature perfume? 
Dr. Lancer skincare and I really love the scent of Le Labo Rose 3

What designers are you currently obsessed with? 
Rei Kawakubo, Junya Watanabe and Comme des Garçon are true innovators in the industry.
