"It was a little bit before my time. I was born in '95 and the show ended around '93."

Anyone else feeling super-old after reading that quote from Dylan Everett aka Mark-Paul Gosselaar's younger self in Lifetime's TV movie The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story, which exposes all of the alleged behind-the-scenes drama of the iconic '90s sitcom?

Yes, we chatted with the new Zack Morris, and his costars Tiera Skovbye (playing the role of Elizabeth Berkley) and Julian Works (the new Mario Lopez) about the highly anticipated movie, based on Dustin Diamond's explosive tell-all, and after we got over the realization that we are now basically senior citizens, we got the scoop on the secretive audition process and rocking a curly mullet à la A.C. Slater.

In a funny twist of fate, Skovbye, just like Berkley, auditioned for a different role...the same one the Showgirls star originally auditioned for! "I originally auditioned for the role of Kelly Kapowski," she spilled. "So it was kind of funny, like, my first two auditions were for that and then I realized that I'm blonde. [Laughs.] It was just not the right fit."

Someone else who didn't have the right hair for his character? Works, who opted to rock a wig rather than actually grow out his hair to nail Lopez's classic "curly mullet" he sported on the series. "I was in the hair and makeup chair for a couple of hours every time before shooting it," Works said. "I think I pulled it off pretty well. Not everyone can do that!" His costars totally agreed, and based on the pic above, we're giving our seal of approval, too.

To hear a funny story about what happened when Julian decided to go out in public with his A.C. Slater hairstyle, and to get a sneak peek at Everett's dead-on Zack Morris-ordering-a-pizza impression, watch our interview with the three stars above!

The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story airs Sept. 1 at 9 p.m. on Lifetime.
