The 26-year-old actress and singer was spotted with several other people on a beach in Malibu, California on Friday, July 11. She sported an black scalloped-edge bikini draped with an orchid-colored cover-up, tied Grecian-style, that flowed in the wind. She paired the romantic look with several pieces of jewelry.
A source confirmed to E! News that Duff was filming a music video. No further details were provided. Duff also shared on her Twitter page a photo of herself in a sitting on a rock and looking out toward the ocean. She's wearing a white linen cover-up and what appears to be the same jewelry.

Duff launched her music career in 2002, a year after the debut of the part-animated Disney Channel series Lizzie McGuire, in which she played the title character. The series lasted for three years, spurred a movie and gained her a massive fan following.
Her last major studio record was Dignity, released in 2007. Duff had also dropped a greatest hits album in 2008 and contributed a track to the soundtrack of the 2009 film What Goes Up. In recent months, Duff has been working on new music. She told E! News several months ago that she hoped to release a new album this fall.

She has been going through some personal issues as well. Duff announced in January that she and husband Mike Comrie, father of their 2-year-old son Luca, had split. The two have remained friendly and no divorce papers have been filed.
