The back-on-again couple visited the Los Angeles Zoo yesterday where they checked out some wild animals during a privately guided tour and posed for pics with happy fans. The "Boyfriend" singer looked cool in blue jeans, a black shirt and a black hat with sunglasses for the weekend outing with his ladylove. Meanwhile, Gomez looked super-cute in skinny jeans and a white top with her hair up in a bun.
As for their private tour of the zoo, Genie Vasels, vice president for Institutional Advancement of the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association, tells E! News, "They arrived around 2 p.m. The occasion was Justin's grandparents were visiting from Toronto and he wanted to do something nice for them. So he brought them and Selena, two bodyguards and his assistant to the L.A. Zoo."
"They were very affectionate with each other and they held hands throughout the day," Vasels added of the lovebirds, who saw elephants, gorillas, orangutans, otters and more during their visit. "The grandparents were equally lovely and everyone was just enjoying having a fun family outing."
Jelena also posed together with some fans. One of the men posted the zoo photo on Instagram, writing, "Sunday! @TheLosAngelesZoo Thank You Lt. Beccera for looking after us! @selanagomez @justinbieber #lazoo #mydayinla #Sunday."
The Biebs also retweeted a photo shared by the father of a young girl he posed with. "@justinbieber Thank you for taking the time to take a photo with my daughter at the zoo today!" the man wrote with the cute pic.
Vasels tells E! Bieber's photo op with the girl was a very sweet moment. "He went on his own and put his arm around her and it was a very sweet moment and he took some photos with her and her parents," she said. "No one asked him to do it but he did this on his own volition."
Bieber posted a photo from the zoo himself. In the cute pic, a colorful bird stares at Bieber from its grassy exhibit. "Hey u quit lookin at me like that," the pop star captioned the pic.
Bieber and Gomez only recently rekindled their romance after a long break apart. A source told E! News last week that Gomez wants to take things slower this time around. "She still loves him," the source said. "It is hard for her to get over him, because they have so much history."
"You just can't drop those feelings," the source added. "There is too much there."
Before their zoo date yesterday, the duo stepped out for a romantic dinner date together at Mastro's steakhouse in Beverly Hills on Friday night.
