But wait...We just got him back!
Gotta admit. That was our initial response to the news that Maksim Chmerkovskiy is heading to Dancing With the Stars India (actually called Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa). After all, he's one of the most popular personalities on Dancing With the Stars, the ABC version, right here on our home turf. And after a few seasons off, the pro dancer just returned to the ballroom to win his first mirrorball tropy in May.
But good news, Maks aficionados. E! News can confirm that although the 34-year-old Ukranian dancer has been cast on DWTS India as a guest judge, it's only for only four episodes, which leaves him plenty of time to return before DWTS starts up again. Maks' India gig starts today, and on Sunday, he Instagrammed a pic of his long flight to Dubai, telling fans to "stay tuned for some pics from India."
No word on whether Maks brought his former DWTS partner and rumored flame Meryl Davis along with him, but we're guessing definitely not. Although the pair were rumored to be dating, and have been spotted out together since the show ended mid-May, a source told E! News: "In truth, there is no romance there. They're good friends, but nothing more. The hype about it has been fun, but it's not real."
Your move, women of India.
