True Blood's Final Season Will Be "Insane"—Did You Expect Anything Less?

HBO is putting a stake in True Blood, but not without one final hurrah. The final season of the vampire drama hits airwaves June 22 and there will be blood. It is True Blood after all.

E! News caught up with Sam Trammell, the shapeshifter who is now mayor of Bon Temps. Yep, a mayor who "went off the rails there for a couple episodes."

Season six of True Blood ended with non-Hepatitis-V carrying humans paired up with vampires. Oh and a pack of infected vampires descended on Bellefleur's (Arlene's restaurant).

True Blood, Season 7 HBO

"It's pretty nuts, it's a tough town…There's some serious stuff coming our way with those vampires," Trammell told E! News at The Fault in Our Stars premiere. "It's an insane season, it's great. People are going to love this final season."

But with the excitement comes sadness.

"All of us, we're really sad. It's been seven years. We're in the last month of shooting so we're saying goodbye to this set or that actor…It's just a fun world where anything can happen," he told us.

Notice somebody missing? Yep, a certain very tall, blonde, handsome vampire whom viewers last saw reading atop a mountain—naked—isn't anywhere in that trailer.

The final season of True Blood premieres Sunday, June 22 at 9 p.m. on HBO.
