Scandal Finale Ratings Are Huge—Find Out How Many Viewers Tuned In

Season three finale of the hit ABC drama pulled in great numbers

The Scandal finale was big, both in story and ratings. According to preliminary ratings, 10.5 million viewers tuned in for the season three finale. The Scandal finale also had a healthy 3.4 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic.

Scandal's broadcast competition at 10 p.m.: Parenthood's season finale on NBC with 3.7 million viewers and a 1.3 rating and an NCIS rerun on CBS with 6 million viewers and a 1.0 rating.

Viewers were left with more than one cliffhanger on Scandal as Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) literally flew off into the sunset. Can she really leave all the scandals behind and start a new life in the sun with Jake (Scott Foley)?

"She did quit her job, you might watch her on the beach somewhere. We'll have to see next season…There's that last look after she chooses to ignore the phone call from the White House when she sort of says she's sure to Jake and then she looks out the window when you can really see that she's not so sure," Shonda Rhimes told Jimmy Kimmel.

Other finales on Thursday, April 18 included Community at 8 p.m. on NBC with 2.9 million viewers and a 1.0 rating and The Crazy Ones on CBS at 9:30 p.m. with 5.8 million viewers and a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic.

No show that aired finales on Thursday, April 17 have officially been renewed for new seasons.
