Kate Hudson stepped out without her engagement ring BVLGARI's Decades of Glamour event Tuesday, fueling reports that she's on the outs with her fiancé of nearly three years, Muse's Matthew Bellamy.

The 34-year-old actress looked radiant in an Emilio Pucci ensemble and Christian Louboutin heels. Though she mingled with pal Naomi Watts, Hudson arrived solo at the star-studded event. And while People claimed that the movie star and the rocker "have been on the rocks for some time," and Us Weekly reported the stars "realized they are in different places in their lives," sources tell E! News that Hudson and Bellamy—engaged since the early 2011—aren't ready to throw in the towel just yet.

"They are OK. They go through their ups and downs like every other couple," an insider says of the A-listers. "It's true that occasionally they don't spend as much time together as they would like—work pulls them apart from time to time. But they are working on strengthening their relationship."

Indeed, Hudson and Bellamy are committed to making their relationship work. "They do not see this as being a broken marriage that is beyond repair. Quite the opposite, in fact," the insider reveals. "They are optimistic about the future and see that it will work out. They don't think for a second that they won't get through this. They love one another very much and will do what it takes to make it work."

Another source says that while Hudson wants to make it work, the actress also "misses being single."

Split rumors first circulated Feb. 20 when The New York Daily News reported the pair had "drifted apart." Bellamy's rep didn't return its request for comment, while a rep for Hudson said, "It isn't true."

In December, the famous couple and their 2-year-old son, Bingham, were photographed together in Australia, where Bellamy's band was touring. The trio (plus Hudson's son Ryder, 10) spent Christmas in the U.K. with Bellamy's family, skipping Hudson's mom Goldie Hawn's annual festivities in Aspen, Colo.

Since then, Hudson has stepped out publicly with family and friends—but not Bellamy—in L.A. and New York. She also promoted Wish I Was Here at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

The Almost Famous star and the musician met at California's Coachella Music Festival in April 2010. They now divide their time between L.A. and London, where Hudson purchased a home in 2012.

Hudson most recently discussed her wedding during a Jan. 28 appearance on Live! With Kelly and Michael. "I come from an unconventional family—they're not married, my parents aren't married," Hudson said of Hawn and Kurt Russell, who have been together since 1983. "There's a part of me that goes, if I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it right. I'm going to take the time to really plan it right, and it's a lot. Planning a wedding is a lot!" Referencing her 2009 movie Bride Wars, she continued, "I mean, I did a movie about planning a wedding and that was a lot, let alone actually planning a wedding!"

And during an Oct. 8, 2013, appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the bride-to-be admitted that her son Ryder (with ex-husband Chris Robinson) was pressuring her "a little bit" to tie the knot. "I think he looks forward more to the party than actually the idea of us getting married. Because he has it really planned out what he's wearing," the bubbly blond actress laughed. "Apparently he wants to wear a neon green tux," the Something Borrowed star added. "I'm all for it. He's a bit of a fashion boy."

Six months earlier, Hudson sang a similar tune with Extra. "I look forward to it," the Glee guest star said of getting married. "We'll both figure it out. We've been both very busy, but it will happen."

Will Hudson and Bellamy work out their differences and say "I do?" Only time will tell.
