Miley Cyrus recently made a very smart, responsible decision: To quit smoking cigarettes!
The 21-year-old "Adore You" singer tweeted an update on her progress Monday, Feb. 3, letting her 16.9 million followers know that she'd gone "2 months no cigs" and was —rightfully—#proudofmyself. (We're proud, too!)
Whether Miley is also abstaining from smoking marijuana remains to be determined. She isn't exactly shy about declaring her love for the drug, though. In the March 2014 issue of W, she told Ronan Farrow, "I love weed. I just love getting stoned. I just want it to be back to where it's, like, organic, good weed." And in late January, the Queen of Twerk tweeted a photo of an e-card seemingly declaring her affinity for the substance. It read: "Everyone is in a relationship, getting married or having babies. And I'm just over here like 'I love weed.'"
And back in September, Miley told Rolling Stone she "think(s) weed is the best drug on earth." But, she's not a fan of harder drugs. "Hollywood is a coke town, but weed is so much better. And molly, too. Those are happy drugs—social drugs," she said. "They make you want to be with friends. You're out in the open. You're not in a bathroom. I really don't like coke. It's so gross and so dark. It's like what are you, from the '90s? Ew."
Ew, indeed. Miley's also not a fan of drinking too much, and as she told Rolling Stone in an online Q&A back in June, she thinks "alcohol is way more dangerous than marijuana."
"People can be mad at me for saying that, but I don't care," she continued. "I've seen a lot of people spiral down with alcohol, but I've never seen that happen with weed."
"As long as it isn't illegal, there are far more dangerous things," she said, "and it's legal in the state of California. So I'm happy to live in California, a place where you can be whoever you want to be."
