It's time to take a bow, Seth Meyers.
The long-time Saturday Night Live writer and star took his place behind the Weekend News Update date for the very last time on Saturday night—and true SNL fashion, some very famous friends joined him.
Amy Poehler, Andy Samberg and the always-eccentric Stefon, (aka Bill Hader) stopped by Studio 8H to give new Late Night host a warm sendoff into his post-SNL career. Although we were slightly disappointed that we didn't get a final, "Really?!" sketch from Amy and Seth, the special three-minute adieu was both heartfelt and hilarious.
After visiting some of Stefon's favorite clubs—Crease, Twice, Slice, Gush, Push and … Kevin?—Amy admitted that they crashed Seth's last Weekend Update to take him to "the other side." The Parks and Rec star said, "We are so proud of you. You have been the heart of this show for over a decade."
Andy Samberg also stopped by to serenade his dear friend, but our favorite part was definitely when Seth's newest Weekend Update co-host, Cecily Strong, revealed how much she and the rest of the cast are going to miss him. To which Stefon viciously yelled across the desk, "You barely know him!" and hissed like a feral cat.
We also can't wait to purchase our very own "Human DVR," which according to Stefon is "it's that thing there a midget sits on your TV and tells you what happened on Scandal." Can we find that on Amazon, Stefon?
Seth, who was clearly touched by his friends' cameos, then turned to the camera to give a fond goodbye to the SNL audience: "This is the job I always wanted, and I had the best time and I met the best people and I just want to thank the crew and the cast and especially the writers and Lorne [Michaels]. Thank you very much."
Take a look at Seth's SNL send off above for all the amazing moments. Meyers, who will kick off his Late Night hosting gig on Feb. 24, will welcome Amy Poehler as his very first guest.
