Wait, you mean other things happened during the CW's presentation at the 2014 Winter TCA Press Tour on Wednesday other than the ah-mah-zing news that they will be gifting the world with a Veronica Mars digital spinoff?!
The network's boss Mark Pedowitz fielded reporters' questions about many of the network's popular series, including The Vampire Diaries' highly anticipated 100th episode, how much longer Supernatural will stay on the air (spoiler alert: a very, very long time!) and which freshman drama he's very "bullish" on.
Plus, he dished on the future of series such as Beauty and the Beast, Hart of Dixie and more...
Supernatural: Fans of Jensen AcklesandJared Padalecki's gorgeous faces, rejoice! Pedowitz wants the show, which is currently in its ninth season, to stick around for a very long time. "As a fan of the show, I've seen every episode, as long as I'm here and those number still hold, God bless 'em," he said. "They can go as long as they want."
The Vampire Diaries: Will Katherine (Nina Dobrev) die in the 100th episode, airing next Thursday?! "I am not allowed to discuss plot points for Julie Plec, but come and watch," Pedowitz said. "You might be surprised. The 100th episode is quite interesting."
Reign: The CW will be making it Reign for a little while longer as Pedowitz admitted he's "bullish" on the series, which has steadily attracted more viewers since its lackluster debut. "I'm looking forward to it returning," Pedowitz said, making us very, very happy CW subjects. (All hail, Reign, may it live forever!)
The Flash: Did you like Grant Gustin as Barry Allen aka The Flash when he guested on Arrow back in December? Pedowitz definitely did, as they decided to do a stand-alone pilot rather than a backdoor pilot towards the end of Arrow's second season, which was the original plan. So yeah, we'll probably see The Flash on the CW's schedule in the fall.
"I'm very bullish on the show. I think what Greg [Berlanti], Andrew [Kreisberg], Geoff [Johns] and Marc [Guggenheim] did introducing The Flash in those two characters was great," Pedowitz gushed. "So we felt because of that, let's make it into a bigger pilot, so if we do launch the series, we'll launch it with a bang, like Arrow."
Miscellaneous: While Beauty and the Beast, The Carrie Diaries and Hart of Dixie all have devoted followings, they aren't exactly bringing in big ratings. But Pedowitz said no decision has been made about any of the network's shows.
Of The Carrie Diaries, he said, "Amy Harris did a really good job with the show. We'll make a decision come May whether or not it returns." As for Hart of Dixie's time-slot move and low ratings, "It had a tough time period up against The Voice and Dancing With the Stars. It held up fairly well. We'll look at what happens come May. No decisions yet one way or another."
And the same is true for Beauty and the Beast, as Pedowitz said, "We've made no decisions whatsoever. We'll make a decision come May. I'm really happy with it creatively."
Start those prayer circles now, people!
