Isn't there enough drama on The Newsroom to suffice those hungry for a scoop?

In a statement exclusive to E! News, series creator Aaron Sorkin slams a report suggesting that he and star Jeff Daniels do not get along with Olivia Munn, who plays a brilliant yet socially awkward economist and finance reporter alongside Daniels' ego-maniac-with-a-heart-of-gold lead anchor.

"The story bears no resemblance to reality," Sorkin said. "Olivia is a perfect cast member who is loved and respected by the entire cast, by the crew and the producers, by HBO and especially by me."

Well, praise doesn't get much higher than perfect.

A source had told Radar Online that Munn's "know-it-all attitude" was bugging Daniels and Sorkin to the point that it created a "poisonous atmosphere" between her and Sorkin on set.

Judging by Sorkin's reply, that person had Munn confused with her character, Sloan Sabbith—whose know-it-all ways always annoy at first but then ultimately charm.

Daniels won the Emmy for Best Actor in a Drama Series in 2013 and is up for a Screen Actors Guild Award, but there's been no set-in-stone word yet on when the verbose HBO series is coming back for a third season.

HBO clarified in September, following a tweet from Daniels indicating that their renewal was official: "We are excited about proceeding to a Season 3 and are continuing our conversations with Aaron about schedules."

"We're going to come back, we just don't know when yet," Daniels told reporters backstage at the Emmys after his surprise win. "They're trying to work it out with Aaron and HBO and is deciding when they want to air it."

In addition to her work on The Newsroom, Munn also recently had a guest arc on New Girl.
