Brooke Mueller has brought up a serious allegation with the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services.
A source close to the situation tells E! News that Mueller's twin sons with ex-husband Charlie Sheen told her that a person associated with Denise Richards hit the boys over the head and across the back. (There was no word as to when this allegedly occurred.)
The boys also told their mom that Richards' daughters with Sheen, their half-sisters Sam and Lola, got hit by this person as well, the source said.
The insider said that an obviously concerned Mueller has no idea if this is the truth, but all allegations of such a nature must be reported, so Mueller has told the DCFS about the accusations.
A rep for Sheen had no comment, while Richards' camp has not yet responded to a request for a response.
TMZ is reporting that cops went to Richards' house last night to question her about the claim and that she spoke to them outside, calling the accusation "vindictive" and "ridiculous" and saying she hadn't seen the twins in two weeks.
Radar reported a few weeks ago that Richards had sent a letter to the DCFS in which she explained that 4-year-old Bob and Max had been misbehaving and she no longer wanted the twins staying with her.
Much to Sheen's outrage, Mueller's brother Scott was appointed the boys' temporary guardian, paving the way for them to once again stay with their mom, who has been in and out of treatment programs for substance abuse over the last couple years. Mueller stated in a court filing in October that she had been "substance-free for seven months."
