Playing House First Look: Meet USA Network's Hilarious New BFFs Lennon Parham and Jessica St. Clair—Watch!

Playing House USA

USA Network is ready to play house.

The network's new comedy series Playing House debuts in the spring and introduces viewers to two best friends, played by Lennon Parham and Jessica St. Clair, who come back together when they need each other the most. Hijinks, of course, ensue. Playing House is one of the network's first half-hour comedies, along with Denis Leary's Sirens, and after seeing some footage from the show, it's easy to understand why USA is ready to get its laugh on.

In an exclusive first look at the highly anticipated new series, Parham and St. Clair dish on what viewers can expect from Playing House, including hugs, laughs and maybe some kissing...

Parham takes on the role of Maggie, a mother-to-be who asks her single and career-driven BFF, St. Clair's Emma, to return home from overseas for her baby shower in the single-camera comedy. "I'm gonna hug you so hard, it's going to hurt," Maggie says, while Emma responds, "I'm gonna squeeze you so hard that baby's going to come out of you!" So it's sort of like Amy Poehler and Tina Fey's Baby Mama meets the friendship between Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph in Bridesmaids, but on a weekly basis? Sold!

The show is inspired by Parham and St. Clair's real-life friendship and the two co-wrote the series and will also serve as executive producers.

"Our new series come from some of the best comedic talent in the business, and reflect USA's style—with great characters, strong execution and compelling storytelling," Jeff Wachtel, co-president of USA Network, said in a statement when Playing House was ordered to series.

Playing House debuts Spring 2014.

(E! and USA are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
