The Boston Red Sox are World Series champions!

The bearded bunch bested the St. Louis Cardinals, taking the best-of-seven series in six games on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at Fenway Park. This is Boston's third title in ten years; they won in 2004 (after an 86-year drought but who is counting) and 2007.

Celebrity fans, as well as lovers of the game of baseball, flocked to Twitter to express their excitement after the team's big accomplishment. Here is a sampling of some of the enthusiastic messages:
