Taylor Swift Talks Relationship "Deal-Breakers," Admits "I've Never Had a Perfect Fit With Someone"

Despite having dated some of Hollywood's most eligible bachelors, Taylor Swift insists she still hasn't met her perfect man.

The 23-year-old songbird, whose past boyfriends include Harry Styles, Joe Jonas, Jake Gyllenhaal, John Mayer and Conor Kennedy, opened up to Glamour U.K. and dished on her much-buzzed about dating life, what kind of man she's looking for and what constitutes as a "deal-breaker" in a relationship.

"Here's what I've learned about deal-breakers. If you have enough natural chemistry with someone, you overlook every single thing that you said would break the deal," the "I Knew You Were Trouble Singer" tells the mag, looking adorable on the cover in a cozy black and white stripped sweater and a newsboy cap.

Swift also has a similar stance when it comes to the topic cheating:

"I've seen my friends take someone back after they've cheated because they fit perfectly," she admits. "But I don't know, because I've never had a perfect fit with someone."

While Taylor may sing about finding her modern day Prince Charming in her music, her personal love life has become tabloid fodder due to her string of highly-publicized romances and her penchant for penning lyrics about her ex-beaus (MTV Video Music Awards, anyone?).

Despite Swift's reputation of being a serial dater in Hollywood (Amy Poehler and Tina Fey famously poked fun at the singer's love life during the Golden Globes last year), the performer insists she's not the boy crazy girl the tabloids like to portray.

"Well the way it works, as I've learned recently is if you reach a point in your career where things are going very well, public perception needs a 'Yeah, but'.  Like, 'Yeah, but she's been on a lotta dates apparently.'  'Yeah, but I hear she's crazy.'  I think you'll find it has a lot to do with being a woman.  And I resent that," she says. "That there has to be some downside to your personality or lifestyle if you're a woman and successful. But I'm not gonna say to my guy friends, 'No, I can't go to lunch because people will say we're dating.'  I just reject the idea I have to change the way I live my life."

Smart gal. And she maintains her solid mentality by ignoring the incessant tabloid talk.

"You can be obsessed with the bad things people say and the good things, either way you're obsessed with yourself and I'm not—you can become unhinged so easily," she explains. "Vanity can apply to both insecurity and egotism. So I distance myself, because I feel everything. The little I am exposed to hurts my feelings. The only things I can really control are my songs and my behavior. The rest? If I focused on it, that would lead to insanity."

Which is why she directs her attention towards her music, saying she's focused on work—not starting a family:

"I love children—but I don't know if I'll have them, especially not any time soon," she reveals.

But despite trying her best to ignore the tabloids, the blond beauty is well aware that her next relationship will undoubtedly be the talk of Tinsel Town, particularly if she dates another star—but Swift says the media won't scare her away from coupling up with another celeb.

"You can't say, 'I'm never gonna date a high-profile person in the arts!' But whoever I date, famous or not—whether I ever date again!— - all chaos will break loose. With fabrication and frantic obsession and who likes who more and how it ended. But right now is easy because I'm single and happy, and it's very relaxing."
