Ever wonder why Michelle Obama got rid of her headline-making bangs?
Well, the FLOTUS has a very practical answer for why she grew out her trendy fringe, which caused a media frenzy back in January of this year.
"You know, it's hard to make speeches with hair in your face!" Obama tells the latest issue of Parade. Fair enough!
Bangs or no bangs, Obama, who turns 50 in January, is as happy as ever. "I have never felt more confident in myself, more clear on who I am as a woman," Barack Obama's other half admits. "But I am constantly thinking about my own health and making sure that I'm eating right and getting exercise and watching the aches and pains. I want to be this really fly 80, 90-year-old."
Besides turning 50, Obama will soon face nother milestone: sending 15-year-old daughter Malia to college in a few years. "You know, I am really trying to tone that way down," she said. "Because kids are under unreasonable pressure, and it can destroy a high school experience."
"I give them as long a leash as they can handle," Obama said of parenting Malia and 12-year-old Sasha. "What I tell my kids is, I'm preparing you for college and for life. So, having independence, knowing how to set your own boundaries, figuring out how to make that balance."
