One glance at the fall runways from New York, Milan and Paris, and it was clear that nearly every designer from Reem Acra and Edun to Rebecca Minkoff and Mulberry, had plaid on the brain.
We spotted oversized coats and wide-legged trousers to playful party dresses and leather-trimmed tops, all decked out in the charming pattern.
Plaid makes a statement all on its own, so pick a color palette that speaks to you, your coloring and lifestyle and pair with distressed denim, leather leggings or even, a pencil skirt for the office.
Or follow the lead of the always-elegant Kate Middleton, who smartly bundled up in a plaid coat to differentiate herself from a sea of solid colors.
