Watch: Inside Carter Oosterhouse's Eco-Friendly Kitchen

Carter Oosterhouse has turned his kitchen into a ex treme green machine—literally. The HGTV star gave E! News' Ashlan Gorse a tour of the eco-friendly kitchen he shares with wife Amy Smart in Beverly Hills.

He boasts that compost is essential in going green. "When I got married we had over 200 hundred guests at our wedding and only one bag of trash!"

Even more impressive? The Million Dollar Rooms host has managed to turn his kitchen into a recycling center with easy, pull-out drawers. But that's not all:From the paint to the floors, everything in the kitchen is made up of recycled materials. While the counters may look like marble they are simply quartz deposit.

As for the beautiful island in the middle of the room? "It is reclaimed wood," he explains. "Otherwise it would be in a landfill but it's in my house and it looks fantastic."
