If the thought of pantsuits makes you shudder with memories of the shoulder-padded versions of the 1980s or Hillary Clinton's extensive collection circa her headband-wearing days, it's time to revisit the jacket-and-pants pairing.

Pantsuits have made their way from the boardroom to the red carpet with fashionable women like Kristen Stewart, Karolina Kurkova, Nina Garcia, Anja Rubik and Emma Roberts sporting ladylike takes on the menswear-inspired trend.

A Roberto Cavalli pantsuit from the designer's resort 2013 collection is particularly popular among stylish celebs—Stewart, Rubik and Garcia have all donned the designer's blue printed ensemble. Model Rubik went for an extra-tailored look, pairing the suit with a collared button-up, while Garcia played it casual-cool, draping the jacket over a black V-neck. If the print-on-print pairing is a little too bold for your liking, follow Stewart's example and swap out the pants for a solid-color bottom.

Whether you wear the separates alone or together, the key to working this revamped Working Girl trend is to make sure each piece is fitted. Kurkova's Cavalli suit fits like a glove and helps show off her shape.

Another tip for making this borrowed-from-the-boys look uniquely feminine is to opt for a cropped jacket and pant-leg, like Roberts' Nanette Lepore suit.
