Country crooners may have had their eyes on one of the coveted CMA Awards at last night's show, but the ladies of the red carpet were more interested in going for gold.

A gold rush of sorts hit the awards show, with Jessica Aldean, Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Williams-Paisley glittering in metallic gowns.

We think Fairchild set the gold standard with a shimmery one-shoulder column dress that made her look like a statuesque Greek goddess. (For petite gals who want to stand a little taller, column dresses—in gold or any other color—add the illusion of height.)

Aldean, wife of country artist Jason Aldean, went for a more subtle glow with a rose gold gown. The hammered effect makes the frock look a little stiff, but adds an interesting, made-you-look-twice textural quality. Williams-Paisley went the opposite route with a liquid-like gilded number with a long train.

Which of these ladies had the winning Midas touch? Tell us your thoughts in the comments!
