The dueling ladies of American Idol are about to duke it out in the beauty department too! That's right, both songbirds are making headlines, and it has nothing to do with their musical talents or on-air judging.

Nicki Minaj unveiled her latest limited-edition Viva Glam lip gloss exclusively for MAC Cosmetics at an appearance at Selfridge's in London, while Mariah Carey announced a swanky new nail polish collaboration with OPI, set to debut in January 2013.

Minaj's high-shine lip color emulates the rapper's personality perfectly: It's vibrant and shocking and, of course, bright Barbie pink. Best of all, proceeds from the sale of each product go towards helping men, women and children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.

The Mariah Carey by OPI collection includes eight shades (ranging from pink glitter to rich plum crème) hand-selected and inspired by the multiple Grammy Award-winning recording artist. With polish names like "A Butterfly Moment" and "Can't Let Go," it's pretty clear that Carey infused her creative direction in this sparkly new launch.

Bonus! The star-worthy line just so happens to include something completely new and exciting from OPI: four fabulous Liquid Sand lacquers that feature a textured, matte finish with a heavy dose of shimmer in each shade. (Skip the top coat on these, ladies!)

What do you think? Would you rather wear hot-pink lip gloss like Nicki or flaunt glittery diva nails inspired by Mimi?
