Is Homeland in hot water?
Well, it seems Lebanon's minister of tourism, Fady Abboud, is none too happy with the Showtime series and has expressed outrage that the award-winning drama unfairly portrays Beirut as a city roaming with terrorists, the U.K.'s Telegraph reports.
As a result, Abboud, who stated that several violent scenes on the program are a "serious misrepresentation" of Beirut, is now looking at the possibility of taking legal action against the show's producers.
"We are following the case legally," Abboud is quoted as saying. "I raised this at the cabinet meeting, and the president asked the minister for justice and the minister of communications to see what can be done."
Abboud has also reached out to "all young Lebanese adults to do what they need to do—to write blogs, to call the BBC and CNN, to try and raise awareness that Beirut is not a city of Kalashnikov and war."
