Alec Baldwin may have just inadvertently inspired an upcoming episode of 30 Rock.
Twitter exploded this afternoon with tweets and retweets of claims that the actor was kicked off a flight from LAX to JFK just before the plane was about to take off at about 1 p.m...
"On an AA flight at LAX. Alec Baldwin removed from the plane We had to go back to the gate," former MTV executive Michael J. Wolf tweeted. "Terrible that everyone had to wait."
Another passenger tweeted, "#Alec Baldwin is getting kicked off of AA flight as I tweet this!"
Baldwin tweeted, "Flight attendant on American reamed me out 4 playing WORDS W FRIENDS while we sat at the gate, not moving. #nowonderamericaairisbankrupt."
And it didn't stop there.
Another Baldwin tweet reads, "But, oddly, 30 Rock plays inflight on American. #theresalwaysunited."
A rep for the airline declined to comment, saying, "We're sorry but owing to privacy concerns regarding our customers, we don't comment on something that might or might not have happened."
He will be getting back to New York tonight. While he tweeted that American rebooked him on its 3 p.m. flight, don't look for Baldwin on any other American flights. "Last flight w American," he also tweeted. "Where retired Catholic school gym teachers from the 1950's find jobs as flight attendants."
But American doesn't want to lose him, tweeting, "Mr. Baldwin, we are looking into this. Please DM us contact information."
Somewhere Tina Fey is writing that script right now.
