Whatever his guests' politics, there's no discriminating when it comes to Jimmy Fallon.

The Late Night host took to Twitter to offer up a mea culpa to Republican presidential hopeful Michelle Bachmann for the hubbub caused by his house band, The Roots, who subtly bashed her on Monday night by playing Fishbone's "Lyin' Ass Bitch" as her intro music.

"I'm honored that @michelebachmann was on our show yesterday and I'm so sorry about the intro mess. I really hope she comes back," tweeted Fallon.

"Actually it was a really fun interview. She helped me with my Minnesota accent. (I still sound Irish.)," he added in a later post.

Bachmann's camp has to comment on the controversy.

Before she appeared on the show, Roots' drummer Questlove gave a heads-up to fans that he and his fellow Grammy winners had a snarky surprise for the GOPer.

"Aight late night walkon song devotees: you love it when we snark: this next one takes the cake. ask around cause i aint tweeting title," he tweeted.

While they didn't sing the chorus, the hip-hopsters' (un)welcome was recognizable enough with its "la-la" refrain, sparking controversy online.

Questlove hasn't spoken of the matter since he retweeted a post by his boss saying, "Questlove is grounded."
