Pete Doherty is in shambles again.

The substance-abusing British rocker has just landed himself another drug charge, this time stemming from his March arrest on suspicion of providing drugs to an heiress-turned-filmmaker friend who died from a suspected overdose.

UK authorities have charged the 31-year-old Doherty with possession of cocaine according to a statement released by Scotland Yard.

Two of his pals, 29-year-old Alan Wass and 42-year-old Peter Wolfe, were also hit with charges for possessing cocaine. As well, authorities charged Wolfe with supplying Class A drugs to 27-year-old Robyn Whitehead, whose body was discovered in January in the flat Wolfe was staying at in East London, drug paraphernalia by her side.

Following her death, police took the Babyshambles frontman into custody for questioning.

This is the latest legal woe for Doherty, who's had multiple stints in jail and rehab thanks to his problems with addiction (so it's probably no surprise to hear Kate Moss' ex-beau has reportedly been shacking up with troubled diva Amy Winehouse in her Camden mansion).

Whitehead had been working on a documentary about Doherty's old band, The Libertines, at the time. The singer is said to be working on a comeback album with his mates from that group while he, Wolfe and Wass are out on bail.

The trio's next hearing in Thames Magistrates Court is scheduled for Oct. 18.
