Live at American Idol: Who Needs Simon? We Have the Glee Stars' Picks

With the cast of Glee in the audience, we take note about which stars love which contestants

If you're still trying to figure out who to champion this season on American Idol, we have just the thing for you: Our highly scientific Glee-O-Meter!

OK, so it's not scientific at all, but it is fascinating if you're a Glee fan. We just so happened to sit right smack dab behind the likes of Matthew Morrison, Jane Lynch, Cory Monteith, Jenna Ushkowitz and Kevin McHale at tonight's performance show and can tell you exactly who they are rooting for in the competition. This is valuable knowledge, people, 'cause unlike Simon Crankypants, these guys actually know how to sing!

You're a Matthew Morrison If...You're into the vocal stylings of smooth bluesy guitar guy Lee Dewyze. In fact, during his performance tonight, Matt's head was bobbing along with the music so hard we thought that fancy fedora of his was going to fly right off his head. It was pretty much an explosion of cuteness, as Lee looked pretty sweet singing his song and Mr. Schue stole our heart long ago.

You're a Jane Lynch If...You are on board with Idol powerhouse Crystal Bowersox. The first performer of the night had Sue Sylvester's alter-ego clapping and snapping and moving and grooving in her seat from the get-go. Some of her good vibes must have been flowing across the aisle into Simon Cowell's vicinity, because he was feeling the Bowersox love, too, swaying his normally stoic head from side to side. (In our dream world, Sue Sylvester would fill in for Simon when he leaves.)

You're a Cory Monteith If...Mr. Andrew Garcia is your cup of tea. Glee's doofy jock seemed pretty into Andrew's Elvis Presley number, bouncing his head as the wannabe rocker graced the stage. And even though the judges didn't dig it, Andrew should feel proud to have Cory's vote, 'cause we can attest he's way smarter than his McKinley High alter ego.

You're a Jenna Ushkowitz If...You're in love with the little girl with a big voice, Siobhan Magnus. This half of Team Artina seemed thoroughly impressed with this season's Adam Lambert and let everyone know it as she boogied on down in her front-and-center spot in the crowd. We're sure Siobhan appreciated the support, since the judges weren't too thrilled with her tonight. And if Casey James is more your speed, Jenna digs this studmuffin, too. Jane clearly did not agree with Simon's rough critique of the up-and-comer, shaking her head in frustration over the judges. If only Sue Sylvester were on hand to crush him with a hair joke. We can dream.

You're a Kevin McHale If...Young Katie Stevens lights your fi-yah! Decked out in her best blinged-out vest and leather pants, the girl everyone loves to hate received big ups from the Glee's adorkable, spectacled vocalist. We're talking hand in the air, booming applause and, of course, more head bobbing.

Other fun things you've just gotta know about tonight's American Idol:

Mentor Adam Lambert was in the audience all night, really paying attention to each performance and giving several standing ovations. Plus, his hair looked great and as per usual, and Kara DioGuardi was all up in his grill, flirting away. (It was actually very sweet!)

Former Real Housewives of Orange County star Lauri Waring Peterson and her hubby, George, were seated so far in the back of the studio, only well-trained television professionals like ourselves took notice. Her daughters did, however, get up and go stand in the pit throughout the shoot.

Ryan Seacrest showed us his smooth moves when exiting the stage for Andrew's song, doing some sort of half-robot, half-booty shake. Too bad he's just too darn busy to go win Dancing With the Stars!

Randy Jackson was stoked to see the Glee cast, jumping up at the first commercial break to say his hellos and shake everyone's hand. He even took Simon over a little later to introduce the famous Brit.

Ryan and Simon both, on separate occasions, ruffled what we here call the Glee-fro, belonging to the Rachel Berry-obsessed Josh Sussman.
