Tom Hanks isn't handling this matter with kid gloves.

The two-time Oscar winner, whose social-media accounts are turning out to be comedic treasure troves of off-the-cuff humor and gonzo musings, has now seemingly assumed a dead-serious new role: Chronicler of the Missing Glove.

The 56-year-old star has been randomly snapping pics of orphan gloves he comes across on New York City's sidewalks and then posting them on his WhoSay page.

Needless to say, the man is obsessed, writing cheeky captions like "Let your fingers do the walking" (for a pic he uploaded on Monday) and keeping vigilant watch over those MIA mittens. (He's been steadily building his glove photo archive since January. Go figure.)

Hanks has already proven himself to be quite the wacko Twitter prankster—just ask the lucky fan who now has a memento from his faux boozy bender with the star.

So let's give the actor a big hand, shall we? Or a glove.
