On the eve of her 18th birthday, Lorde decided to treat us with a gift.

The New Zealand songstress released the haunting music video for her popular single "Yellow Flicker Beat" off of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay—Part 1 soundtrack!

In the clip, the "Royals" musician dances solo in multiple scenes, including a seedy motel and an empty stage, as she sings, "This is the start of how it all ends/ They used to shout my name, now they whisper it/ I'm speeding up and this is the/ Red, orange, yellow flicker beat sparking up my heart."

While the music video does not show any scenes or characters from the upcoming Hunger Games installment, Lorde explained how the movie influenced the track on her Tumblr page.

"It's is my first offering from what I hope will be a soundtrack you love. It's my attempt at getting inside her head, Katniss'. I hope you like it," she wrote.

In addition to lending her sultry vocals to four songs on the forthcoming soundtrack, the Grammy winner also curated the entire album, which will feature collaborations between Major Lazer and Ariana Grande, Charli XCX and Simon Le Bon, and The Chemicals Brothers and Miguel, just to name a few.

Kanye West also delivers a special remix of "Yellow Flicker Beat." Can't wait to hear that!

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay—Part 1 soundtrack is out Nov. 17, and the film hits theaters worldwide on Nov. 21.
