It's the end of an era.
After 15 seasons and more than 300 episodes, CSI is coming to an end. And its bringing back some major players for its special two-hours series finale on Sept. 27. Original star Marg Helgenberger, who now stars on CBS' Under the Dome, posted two photos from the set, showing five of the longrunning series' original stars reunited.
"#OGCSI Great fun today with this gang!" Helgenberger captioned a photo from William Petersen, Jorja Fox, Eric Szmanda and Paul Guilfoyle.
And the other photo should please some CSI shippers immensely.
In the photo, Helgenberger poses with Petersen, reuniting Catherine Willows and Gil Grissom, two characters fans have always rooted for, which the actress played into with her caption.
"#Grillows with Jorja & Paul backing us up," Helgenberger wrote. "#CSI4EVER!"
Not returning for the finale, which CBS president Nina Tassler described as epic"? George Eads, who left the series in 2014, will not be returning for the two-hour special. Elisabeth Shue will also not appear. Still, fans can look forward to seeing Ted Danson, Jon Wellner, David Berman, Wallace Langham, Elisabeth Harnois, Robert David Hall, and Melinda Clarke pop up to bid farewell to the longrunning hit series.
CSI's finale will air Sunday, Sept. 27 on CBS.
