Kate Middleton and Prince William will be taking a break from their general royal duties, spending Christmas with the pregnant royal's family in Bucklebury, England.

Rather than celebrate with Queen Elizabeth II at her traditional Christmas gathering, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are planning to spread some holiday cheer at Middleton's parents' home instead.

"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will spend Christmas Day privately with the Middleton family," a spokesperson for St. James's Palace told E! News.

This is, of course, as long as the mom-to-be feels up to it.

Middleton, who has been battling severe morning sickness since announcing her pregnancy, has been out and about recently, attending lunch with the Queen and the BBC's Sports Personality of the Year Awards.

And while the duo may be missing from the Queen's event Tuesday, the royal couple still plans to visit Sandringham Estate, the monarch's Norfolk retreat, at some point during the holidays.
