Beyoncé's Lemonade Premieres This Weekend—Will She Drop Her New Album Then, Too?

Singer likes to keep fans on their toes

Beyoncé is all about maintaining the element of surprise.

Over the weekend she gave us a taste of Lemonade, her "HBO premiere event," in the form of a 1-minute video. The American Horror Story-esque clip shows Bey in varying states—reflective, intimidating, wary, stoic and vengeful. She whispers "the past and the present merge to meet us here," smashes a security camera, walks away from a fire and asks, "What am I doing my love? Pull me in..."

Confused? We're also struggling a bit with the clues, TBH, but we assume things will come together when Lemonade premieres Saturday at 9 p.m. ET on HBO. Some fans speculate this will be when Bey releases an album film tied to the Lemonade concept. This could be in the form of several music videos played back-to-back or perhaps just one super clip merging the artful elements from multiple songs.

There's another theory that Beyoncé will release a singular music video Saturday, which will be followed by the subsequent release of clips from her entire forthcoming album online (this would be similar to what she pulled back in 2013). As several astute Twitter users noticed, the video count on Beyonce's Vevo page is 117, but if you add up all the videos from the index, that number jumps to 130. This leave 13 videos unaccounted for—could those be loaded, locked and ready-to-go clips to go live the moment Beyoncé (hypothetically) makes a big announcement Saturday?

This brings us back to the next possible idea. Earlier this month, a purported set list leaked from Beyoncé's upcoming album supposedly titled Formation. Among its list of sure-to-be hits what a track called "Lemonade Stand" featuring Adele (!). Now, Adele previously denied the rumor she turned down a request from Beyoncé to sign together. But, could the "Hello" singer herself be in on Bey's world of secrecy and actually collaborating with her on something in the very near future?

We know Beyoncé has new music coming out this year—her stylist said it's "beyond awesome" and BFF Kelly Rowland said "it's great" as well. The stars seem to be aligning for Saturday, don't you think?

We're optimistic. Do you think Lemonade will coincide with the release of Beyoncé's next album? Let us know below in the comments.
