While dozens of A-list stars were hitting up extravagant festivities all weekend long, the True Tori star decided to celebrate the biggest awards show of the year at home with her greatest loves.
In a new blog post on her website, Spelling reveals several photos from her "DIY Oscar Gold Party" with Finn, Liam, Stella and Hattie that's nothing short of adorable.
"See how The McDermott's had gold fever," she captioned on Instagram as her kids gathered around the kitchen table. "DIY'ing a fun chic inexpensive Oscar Viewing party…"
The family traveled to Michael's Craft Store and Party City where they picked up "fun, easy and chic" items including paper masks, feathers and mason jars. They even picked up some $1 wine cups and spray painted them gold in honor of the big day.
And a viewing party wouldn't be complete without some delicious treats. How does vanilla cupcakes, star-shaped sugar cookies and a gold studded coconut cake sound?
"Me and my babes!" Spelling wrote on her personal website after showing off her hard work. "A host's job is done! Nite… Xoxo."
Dean McDermott wasn't featured in any of the photos, but perhaps he was the designated photographer? The actor did in fact join his wife just last week at OK Magazine's pre-Oscars event in Hollywood.
According to an eyewitness, the two "were in great moods and they looked really happy." In fact, McDermott was "very hands on" with his wife and looked excited for a night out.
"I need to make a priority for all of our happiness," Spelling recently shared with E! News when talking about her plans for 2015. "My thing is I want to take a little time to do things with my friends and take time with myself."
