It's no secret Tori Spelling has had quite the dramatic year.

Whether attempting to strengthen her marriage to Dean McDermott or improving her health in the hospital, the True Tori reality star hasn't exactly escaped stress in 2014.

But as her family put on a united (and happy) front Saturday afternoon at the 4th Annual Santa's Secret Workshop event in West Hollywood, the proud mom couldn't help but focus on the positive.

"We have a lot to be grateful for," she told E! News when describing her holiday plans. "We're staying at home, definitely we're gonna spend it with our best friends Bill [Horn] and Scout [Masterson]…we have a new baby in the family this year and just doing a lot of cooking and baking and decorating and crafting."

Bill and Scout, AKA the guncles, welcomed their second child back in September. They are frequent guests on all of Spelling's reality shows.

While the family plans on following tradition by making their own salt dough ornaments, Tori has a few goals of her own that she hopes to accomplish as a new year quickly approaches.

"I am never by myself, I don't think I've even peed alone in eight years—not kidding. I'm trying to learn, that's something I'm working on, that will be my New Year's resolution, is definitely try to make me time," she said while supporting Los Angeles Family Housing at the event. "I need to make a priority for all of our happiness, so that's my thing is I want to take a little time to do things with my friends and take time with myself."

Along the way, Spelling also has "hope" that she can continue to rebuild her relationship with McDermott.

Although Tuesday's finale of True Tori could give viewers a few reasons to wonder if this marriage can survive, the Beverly Hills 90210 alumna says things are better.

"This last year has been a big eye opener that we definitely needed to work within and work on ourselves and our relationship, " she shared. "We've been doing a lot of work and that's important for us to commit to each other as a couple and a family and we're doing therapy and we're doing a lot of work together."
