Paging director, Paul Feig! Somebody really wants to be in your next movie!

Gillian Anderson was participating in a Reddit Q&A with fans Sunday when she was asked about the upcoming Ghostbusters movie.

When the actress learned it was going to be an all-female cast, Anderson immediately showed her interest in any role.

"OH MY GOD, I just looked it up online," she wrote. "Paul Feig, cast me now! Start a Twitter petition! I'm free!!!!! I'm free I'm free and I'm funny goddamnit!"

When one user shared their approval of the possible casting, Anderson added, "MAKE IT HAPPEN!!"

Although casting announcements have not been made and a production start date remains unknown, Feig caused quite the commotion when he announced his next project

"It's official. I'm making a new Ghostbusters & writing it with @KatieDippold & yes, it will star hilarious women," he tweeted. "That's who I'm gonna call."

One person who already has a few suggestions is Bill Murray, who played Dr. Peter Venkman in the 1985 flick.

"Melissa [McCarthy] would be a spectacular Ghostbuster," he said in a recent interview. "And Kristen Wiig is so funny—God, she's funny!"

He added, "I like this girl Linda Cardellini a lot. And Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there."

For the record, McCarthy already expressed her apprehension at taking on a role. "Oh my god, that's daunting," she said. "That's taking on a legend, a legendary movie. But I would do anything with those ladies, anything at all."

If there's any chance of Anderson having a part, Feig better act fast! The actress hinted that there might be a big screen reunion of Scully and Mulder sooner rather than later.

"Uh....uh... uh...," Anderson wrote on Reddit after being asking if there was "any progress" to the X-Files 3 movie. "Sorta kinda. Keep your ears to the ground."

Would Anderson be a great addition to the female Ghostbusters? Sound off in the comments section below!
