LeAnn Rimes decided to celebrate her birthday today by honoring Martin Luther King Jr.

The singer was one of many, including a number of high profile stars including her husband Eddie Cibrian, who gathered to commemorate the 50th anniversary of MLK's iconic "I Have a Dream" speech, which he famously delivered on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial during the March on Washington in 1963.

Rimes revealed she will be singing "Amazing Grace" at the historical celebration, taking to Twitter on the eve of her performance to confess her pre-show jitters to her fans.

"Do not know how I'm going to make it through singing Amazing Grace tmrw w/o crying," the blond beauty wrote last night. "I'm truly honored & humbled to be a part of tmrw's event." She additionally tweeted inspirational MLK quotes in the days leading up to the show.

The country crooner also took to the social media site to thank fans for their birthday wishes, while commenting on the life lesson's she's learned at 31.

"31 so far has been nothing but looking on the bright side," she posted. "It's crazy when you start talking about what you've learned in 31 years Too much."

"Go shorty, it's your birthday HA! More delirious tweets to come on 2 hrs of sleep," she added early this morning.

And most recently, she tweeted a pic with hubby Eddie Cibrian in Washington D.C.

"Happy day," she captioned the photo of the couple, who recently inked a deal with VH1 to star in their own reality series.

While Rimes may be busy honoring MLK today, her birthday has hardly been all work and no play.

She celebrated Monday with her hubby and pals at a Hawaiian-themed luau where she slipped into a bikini (natch) for the festivities.

Being 31 has never looked so good. Happy birthday, girl!
