One Direction, 1D, This Is Us Trailer

One Direction held an advance screening of their upcoming 3D movie This Is Us and, not surprisingly, it caused quite the fan frenzy.

So much so, the Los Angeles Police Department was needed. The fandemonium went down at the Grove's Pacific Theatres on Saturday morning.

According to The Los Angeles Times, fans obtained passes to the screening via and started lining up outside the theater as early as 3:45 a.m., but when there were still empty seats come show time, fans started rushing the theater doors attempting to enter the auditorium.

One mother said, "They charged and went straight past the ticket takers for the doors of the actual theater screaming, ‘Let us in! Let us in!' It took about a half an hour before a police car came with two policemen in it. They started palming kids down and shoving them outside."

A source tells E! News: "It was invite-only with a first-come first serve basis. People that weren't able to get in were stuck outside the theater. Someone shouted that the band was actually there and that's when a bunch of screaming girls ran in and tried to get inside."

But, the source added, "security was able to stop anyone from entering. It was a non-incident. The screening carried on as planned."

One Direction: This Is Us lands in theaters August 30, but hopefully with a little less chaos.
