Packing your bags and heading out of town for the holidays? Join the club.

While being with family and loved ones during this time of year is always heart-warming, the struggle to get to your destination isn't always easy.

We caught up with designer and jet-setter Charlotte Ronson, who has mastered the art of flying the friendly skies thanks to her demanding fashion career and family commitments, and asked her to offer her tokens of wisdom on how to survive holiday travel.

Here's what she shared:

1. Plan Ahead: "Leave for the airport early. There's always traffic and I end up being stressed the whole way there if I'm running even a little bit late," she said. Ronson is also a fan of Uber, an affordable on-demand car service you can call from the convenience of your smartphone. A private driver in minutes flat? We like the sound of that!

2. Dress Comfortably: "I always bring a scarf so I can cover my face when I'm sleeping, and socks are essential because air conditioning on the plane is always over the top. And pack a hoodie in your carry-on—even if I don't end up wearing it, I feel like I should have one on me just in case!"

3. Bring a Pillow: "I carry one with me every time I travel!" the designer admitted. Snoozing in the sky? Sounds like heaven!

Follow these smart tips and you'll be home for the holidays in no time!
