Bachelor alum Ashley Iaconetti knows her journey as a mom won't always be rosy.
The reality star recently revealed the initial reaction she had when she found out she was having a boy.
"I had such gender disappointment with Dawson," she admitted on the Aug. 18 episode of her podcast Ben And Ashley I Almost Famous. But after welcoming her son last January with husband Jared Haibon, Ashley said those feelings faded. In fact, she and Jared have started planning for baby number two.
"I'd be happy if we had a boy, too," she noted, "because then I'd want them to have that brother bond."
This isn't the first time Ashley, who met Jared on Bachelor in Paradise and tied the knot with him in August 2019, has been candid about the highs and lows of parenthood.
"I'm not breastfeeding," she wrote last March on Instagram. "I know myself well enough to know that I'm a better mom and therefore Dawson is a happier baby because of this decision."
After experiencing a rough pregnancy, Ashley explained that she was ready to feel like herself again.
"My body needed a break," she confessed. "It didn't need to learn to do something new again. Growing a human was enough for this year."
In addition, Ashley previously shared insight into how she and Jared have built a stronger bond through parenthood, despite experiencing challenging moments.
"While our first year or so as parents has us often feeling like our blood pressure is off the charts," she revealed in a June 15 Instagram, "it has also expanded our love and gratefulness for each other. It has taught us the true meaning of partnership. We share tasks and divide and somehow manage to conquer…with the help from our 'village.'"
She continued, "From a rough pregnancy, opening a new, demanding business, buying the wrong house, and a shared feeding journey- Jared and I advocate for each others' happiness and support each other all the way through."
Of course, Ashley's family life and love story is one of the many fairytale endings from the show. Keep scrolling to see all of the rosy romances still going strong.
