Watch: Tamar Braxton Joins New Season of The Surreal Life

It's Tamar Braxton like you have never seen her before.

On Oct. 24, the singer will return to reality TV when she enters The Surreal Life house. And before you make assumptions about how she will interact with her famous roommates, you may just want to meet Tamar 2.0.

"There is a new Tamar in town, darling," she told E! News in an exclusive interview. "Here we are introducing to the world Tamar 2.0 and I think that you're really going to enjoy this one."

She recalled of her past self, "On Braxton Family Values and all of those dramatic shows, it was another side of me. It was me being the unsolicited advice sister who always did that. And it was the more emotional executive wife who wanted attention."

Now, Tamar said, she is "mature, healthy and ready to conquer the world."

"I'm happy in every sense of the word," she said. "I'm happy in my career. I'm happy with me and my child. I'm happy with my family. I do things that feed my soul and extend that safe, happy place that I fought so hard to be in and nothing can knock me off."

Stars Who Took Steps to Prioritize Mental Health

Back in 2020, Tamar refocused on her mental health after she was briefly hospitalized for undisclosed reasons. Since then, the 45-year-old has become an advocate for therapy and has worked to strengthen her relationship with her family and 9-year-old son Logan, who she shares with ex-husband Vincent Herbert.

While it was difficult to leave her only child during filming, Tamar said their mother-son relationship has only gotten stronger in recent months.

"It's really the biggest and my favorite blessing so far," she said when discussing parenthood. "I'm very, very present. I do mom drop offs in the morning…We're having open conversation. We also have therapy together sometimes and it's the greatest relationship ever because before, when I wasn't mentally healthy, I had a very surface relationship. Now I'm able to really get in there and be a mom and be the listening ear and friend that he deserves."

While Tamar won't be letting Logan watch Mom on The Surreal Life anytime soon, she can guarantee a wild new season awaits both old and new viewers.

Although previews show former NBA player Dennis Rodman flirting with Tamar, she told E! News that he went straight to the "friend zone." As for her relationship with other cast members like Frankie Muniz, Stormy Daniels, Kim Coles and August Alsina? You'll just have to watch and see.

"I definitely was surprised by a few personalities, but I was more pleasantly surprised than I was disappointed," Tamar teased. "The people that I really connected with, I'm still really cool with."

The Surreal Life kicks off Monday, Oct. 24 at 9 p.m. with back-to-back episodes on VH1.
