Forget Google—for her research for The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Cobie Smulders had her own comic book encyclopedia at home: Hint: She's married to it.
The 33-year-old actress, who reprises her role as Maria Hill in the anticipated sequel, can turn to husband and Saturday Night Live cast member Taran Killam for information about the Marvel franchise, because he is an Avengers superfan.
"I remember at one point when I first got to know Taran, he had an Avengers poster in his office and I was like, 'Oh, that's really cool, 'cause his wife is in Avengers,'" Seth Meyers, an SNL alum and former head writer of the show, told Smulders on NBC's Late Night With Seth Meyers on Thursday, a day before the movie hit theaters. "And then the more I got to know him, I realized he would have that anyway. It's just a bonus that his wife is on the poster."
"Yeah, and it's a bonus for me," the actress replied. "Because I feel like he knows so much more about the comic book world than I do, so it's very helpful."
"I remember when I started all this press...I was like, 'So, talk to me about Ultron. Let's just recap a little bit,'" she added. "So it's very easy for me to go to him for help."
Killam has documented his nerd-tastic love for The Avengers before.
The Hulkbuster is not the coolest thing in @Avengers 2. It is the distraction for the magic trick. This movie will be SO good. @josswhedon

He also got to play Iron Man in an Avengers parody sketch on an SNL episode that Smulders' co-star Chris Hemsworth hosted in March.
Smulders and Killam, who are both 33 and were born two days apart, tied the knot in 2012 and are parents to a daughter, who will turn 6 later this month, and a newborn son, who was born this past January.
