Anna Kendrick, Marie Claire

You're not alone if you were left scratching your head after Anna Kendrick admitted, in a new interview with Marie Claire magazine, that she is often criticized for her looks.

And now, she has revealed that her candid confession may have been caused by a boozy lunch.

"Marie Claire got me drunk for my interview #true #DidntFightIt," the Into the Woods star shamelessly tweeted on Monday of the chat, which took place at "a speakeasy-ish bar in downtown L.A."

During the interview, Kendrick shared that the "most common thing I get is, 'Am I the only one who doesn't think that Anna Kendrick is pretty?'"

"And you're like, 'No, you're not the only one,'" she responds, "'Arguably, all the boys in my high school agree with you.'"

The admission is, understandably, garnering headlines as many can't believe that anyone could find the pint-size thesp unattractive.

But in typical Anna Kendrick fashion, the actress isn't fazed by the tabloid reports, and instead, opted to poke fun at the mag's cover...with a silly dick joke.

The 29-year-old star also touched on her role as Cinderella in the forthcoming film Into the Woods, describing her character to Marie Claire as "thoughtful and complicated."

"In a lot of ways, I think it's this incredibly brave story," she said. "She's neglected and abused her entire life she finally gets love and it's not the kind of love she was looking for, and she stands up for herself."

And in case that wasn't enough insight into her character, she shared a hilarious mock shot on Twitter from the Disney film, which she called her "inspiration" (tweet may contain language that's offensive to some).

Never change, Anna—and keep those tweets comin'!
